MISSION

Our goal is to provide our students with excellent learning and performance experiences provided by highly qualified professional staff.  We believe practice makes progress and students will improve musically through consistent practice at home paired with private lessons, group classes and performance.   In addition to musical instruction, we strive to prepare our students to think and act as musical professionals, regardless of their age, skill level and professional or avocational goals.

SCHEDULING

  • Lesson requests are accepted by phone, email or in person at the store.
  • Confirmed lessons are scheduled through the “MyMusicStaff” portal integrated into our website.
  • The portal allows students to log practice time, access online resources, communicate with their teacher, pay for lessons, register for group classes, cancel/reschedule lessons and more.
  • Student and parent (if applicable) profiles must be fully completed on the portal prior to your first lesson.
  • We have three terms per year.  The Spring Term is from February thru May, the Summer Term is June-August and the Fall Term is September thru December.
  • Your lesson slot is confirmed for the duration of the term.   You may opt to continue or switch slots at the end of a term.

PAYMENTS

  • All lesson fees must be prepaid for the month and prior to your first lesson of the month.
  • Credit card and debit card payments are accepted through the portal (preferred) or at the store.  Cash payments are accepted at the store.
  • If payment is not made by your second lesson, your lesson time will be forfeit.  Late fees will apply.
  • There are no refunds on unused or cancelled lessons.
  • Lesson credits cannot be transferred from teacher to teacher or from one family to another.

ATTENDANCE

  • Lessons are scheduled on a weekly basis unless other arrangements have been made.
  • If a student is a “no call, no show” for 2 weeks in a row, they will forfeit their lesson slot.
  • If a student provides notification but is unable to attend lessons for 4 consecutive weeks, they will forfeit their slot unless prior arrangements have been made.

TRIAL LESSON

  • If you are offered a trial lesson, the lesson must be scheduled within 1 week of the offer.
  • You may reschedule a trial lesson one time only.
  • Trial lessons must be completed within 1 month of the offer.
  • Trial lessons will be forfeit if “no call, no show”.

LESSON CANCELLATION

  • Cancellation of a lesson must be made a minimum of 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time to receive a make-up lesson.
  • No shows or failure to notify the teacher within 24 hours is considered a late cancellation. Lesson fees are due and there will be no make-up lesson.
  • No more than 2 cancellations per month.
  • There are no refunds on unused or cancelled lessons.
  • Should you choose to pause your lessons, unused prepaid lessons can be banked for a period of 3 months. Unused lessons after that time will be considered forfeited.
  • Credits cannot be transferred from teacher to teacher or from one family to another.
  • Should you decide to stop taking lessons altogether, please give your teacher 2 lessons notice.  If notice is not given, lesson fees will be charged.

MAKE-UP LESSONS

  • Make-up lessons are given to students who cancel lessons because of illness or extenuating circumstances when teachers are notified at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Make-up lessons are not guaranteed for lessons canceled due to personal scheduling conflicts such as school, sports, extra-curricular activities, etc.
  • Typically, make-up lessons take place at an alternate time/day within the week. In some cases, the make-up lesson will be added after/before the original lesson time, enabling the student to have an hour lesson.
  • Make-up lessons not used after 3 months will be considered forfeited.
  • A make-up lesson can be booked through the portal or with your teacher directly.

WHEN YOUR TEACHER CANCELS

  • In most cases, when your teacher cannot be here, we will find a suitable substitute teacher and the lesson will continue as regularly scheduled.    If your teacher cancels a lesson and we are unable to find a substitute teacher, we will skip over that week’s lesson and resume the following week.  All payments will be pushed forward to compensate for the missed lesson.

HOLIDAYS

  • Lessons will not be given on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Good Friday, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving plus the day before and day after, December 24 through December 31 inclusive.
